Assuring Rights

Birth Registration

Registration of the vital events like birth, death, marriage, divorce and migration is taken as the necessary obligation of citizen. Similarly, registration of birth of the children is marked as the first legal right. Only the registration of birth certifies a child as the citizen of that particular country. Children become eligible for claiming rights after getting the legal right i.e. registration of birth.  Taking it into mind, GYC has taken initiation of birth registration of the children given birth since 1990 to 2000 at Kushmishera, Bhimaapokharaa, Binaamaare, narethaanti, Jaljalaa, burtibaang and Damek VDC. 407 birth registrations were made during the period; and that is continued till date.    For assuring rights to participation of the children, GYC has been making support for formation and capacity enhancement of the children since 1999. This program is continued till date in the program VDCs. Formation of child club, capacity enhancement of the child club members, participation in the competitive programs, formation of child networks are the major activities carried under this program.
