GYC continued support program for the individuals with disability in Baglung and
Myagdi district in collaborative effort with Plan Nepal and Handicap International. Formation of disabled support committee and child club, support for income generation, support for skill-based training, distribution of support materials and advocacy social campaign on the issues of disability were the major activities carried out under the program. As the result of advocacy social campaign, participation of the disabled individual increased in different committees formed in village level. 9611 were directly benefited from different activities. 45 were provided vocational training, 2 students with disability are provided scholarship for health education (CMA), treatment support for 12 children, providing support materials for 8 children, support to income generation for 10 individuals, formation of 15 committees and child club are some of the results of the program.
Aiming to get better the mobility of the blind children, GYC organized Brail Script and mobility training, in support of Plan Nepal, for the blind children studying in Janataadhan Higher Secondary School, Balewa Baglung.
GYC has managed camp for distribution of identity cards of disability on seven strategic locations. This program was carried out in alliance with Women and Children Office Baglung, where 1163 individuals with disability received identity card.
GYC has prepared and published the profile of disability being based on the detailed survey in Myagdi and Baglung District. Different social and government organizations working for social welfare have supported for the effort.
