Creation of knowledge, its management, dissemination and practical use are the foundation for reaching to the point of wisdom. For creating appropriate academic environment to the children for flourishing knowledge, GYC, in partnership with different organizations, has been assisting to establish and run school and community library.  

GYC has assisted to establish school library in 75 districts of Baglung and 20 Schools of Myagdi. Assistance was made for library management, purchasing furniture and books. 

Library program has been running in 36 villages of Baglung and 22 VDCs of Myagdi. GYC has initiated for establishment of school library and library fund in 115 schools of Baglung and 57 schools of Myagdi district during the period of 2007 to 2010. Library system is developed and library management committees are formed in the mentioned libraries.  

School Library Program has been running in Hatiyaa, Harichaur, Narethaanti, Dudilaabhaati, Lekhaani, Bihun, Tangraam, Resha, Sigaaana, Bhimapokharaa, Raayadaanda, Tityaang, Kushmisheraa, Paiyunpaataa, Naaraayansthaan, Bhimgithe, Gwaalichaur, Dagaatundaandaa, Righaa, Malma, Kaandebash, Maalikaa, Adhikaarichaur, Burtibaang, Raajkut, Knungaa, Bhakunde, Dhamjaa, Damek, Paiyu Thanthaap, Binaamaare and Sarkuwaa VDCs and Baglugn Minicipality of Baglung District.  

Similarly, the program has been implementing in Ratneshaur, Jyaamrukkot, Arthunge, Singaa, Pulaachaur, Piple, Bhagwati, Bima, Darwang, Niskot, Arman, Baranja, Baabiyaachaur, Kuhun, Paakhaapaani, Jheen, Paatlekhet, Ghataan, Taakam, Devisthaan, Okharbot and Ruma VDCs of Myagdi District; and Dhaairing VDC of Parvat District.  

Formation and reformation (as per need) of library management committee, joint meeting of school management committee and parents-teachers association, joint meeting of school management committee and teachers association, basic and refresher training on library management, importing library books and furniture, meeting with District Education Office (DEO), meeting of district-level network, training for staff members of library, assistance for award and formation of school library friends committee are some of the major activities carried out under the school library support program.  

Library program has familiarized the students and community members on managing the library; and its regular use. Library friends and child clubs have been running different competitions related with knowledge and skills. Besides it, the students have been publishing wall-magazine in schools as the result of school library program.
